Alright everyone if you haven’t had a chance to listen to this album go back and listen to this album from Jesse McCartney which is New Stage. I have to say when I had first listened to this one I wasn’t even surprised about how good this album is but I felt that it was missing something. What is that you all maybe wondering that something is a couple of songs to make the whole album complete but that will be mentioned a bit later on in this blog post.
Back on October 8th 2021( which is Priscilla Marie(Cece) Winans birthday but thats a blog for another day) he released his fifth album New Stage which is a ten track album and if the songs like Better With You, Wasted along with the acoustic versions of both Better With You, Yours and Wasted that could have been on the album too we could have had a deluxe edition of the album but thats neither here or there and lets get into the blog post and album review of this one. Even though I might not be able to talk about all of the songs in this album but I will talk about some of the songs in this album so here we go. The very first song in this album is the Yours where he’s talking about the types of persons that he was over the years. One of the parts in the song is “Yeah, I been the face in every bedroom on a poster” What this is saying in this part of the song is that so many fans of his(mainly female fans who grew up listening to his music) over the years had posters from different teen magazines like J-14, Teen People etc. all over the walls of their bedrooms.
He is saying that he may have been those types of things over the years but the one thing is that he is telling the one person that he loves a lot that he is yours. In the next part of the song he says that “Yeah, I been an album flop away from being done” This is talking about his unreleased album Have It All which I will talk about towards the end of this blog post. He also mentions about not only how he could be a father, practice a little patience with the wars that he has never won. This is not only saying that one day if he becomes a father he wants to be the best father that he can be and not make the same mistakes. Also this is saying that he wants to be patient and knows that his mental well being matters just like his physical well being.
Now the next song is what I’m about to talk about on here is Friends. This song is about being with your friends and having fun and not let the world get to you and that enjoy the time that you have with them cause who knows what could happen. He even mentions being in a group chat and don’t remembered what was going on while he was hanging out with them on a rooftop at 3a.m(which everyone is sleeping) he even mentions that he don’t know where he would be without them.
Now this one I know that all of you know this one and even watched the music video for it and I’m talking about the one and only Kiss The World Goodbye. This song is about that you and that one person who you truly love dearly is always seen around each other to where other people are not only jealous about it but they start to questioning it. Maybe it could be that your friends with a guy and people start to not only wonder about it but also question what is going on to where everyone starts to talking about it. But sometimes you just not only need to just walk away from it but not let things like that get to your head to where it bothers you really bad.
Do you all remembered in the first half of this blog post that I was talking about a line in the song where McCartney had mentioned that he was an album flop from being done. Back in 2010 when he was signed to Hollywood Records(Yes the same Label that Demi Lovato,
Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Hillary Duff, Raven and the Jonas Brothers just to name a few other artist who were also signed to the label too.) had recorded an album called Have It All but it ended up not being released that year. Later that year all of the songs from that album ended up being leaked online but it started to make me wonder what if he can still release the album as of now (like the Jonas Brothers did with their unreleased recorded album V) on his website as a physical copy with more new songs.
